ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage will be missing a familiar face tonight. League insider Adam Schefter will not be part of the broadcast.
As it turns out, he has a good excuse. Schefter is not covering the draft because he is attending his son’s college graduation this weekend.

Schefter won’t be the only ESPN stalwart missing in action this weekend. Kirk Herbstreit announced earlier this week that he has to miss the draft after doctors recently discovered a blood clot in his body.
“While we will miss Kirk at the NFL Draft, we want him to focus on his health,” ESPN said in a statement. “Our ESPN and ABC crews will have the event well covered this week, and we look forward to Herbie’s return to the Draft next year.”
While Herbstreit and Schefter won’t be part of the draft coverage at all, Mel Kiper Jr. will be taking part remotely. Kiper revealed recently that he will not be traveling to Las Vegas because he is unvaccinated against COVID-19.
The 2022 NFL Draft is set to begin in less than one hour. You can watch on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network.
