911 Audio From Dwayne Haskins’ Wife, Kalabrya, Released

Earlier this month, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins died in a tragic accident in Florida.

On Wednesday morning, Andy Slater published audio of two 911 calls immediately following the accident. One of the calls is from Haskins’ wife, Kalabrya, who told police dispatchers that Haskins told her he was stranded on the side of the road and was walking to get gas.

“He said he was going to call me back after he finished putting the gas in,” but she says he never called back.

“I kept calling and kept calling,” Kalabyra told the dispatch officer, via TMZ Sports. “He wasn’t answering. Eventually, after 10 minutes of calling the phone, eventually it cut off. It’s not working now. I had his location. I just want somebody to go in the area and see if his car is there and if he’s OK and if anything happened to him.”

Police dispatchers later told her that there was an incident on the highway, but they couldn’t confirm the identity of the person involved.

“I don’t want you to panic, but I’m going to be honest with you,” the dispatcher said. “We do have an incident on the highway — but I can’t confirm if that’s your husband or not.”

Haskins tragically passed away after he was hit by a truck on the highway. He was just 24 years old.

Our thoughts remain with Kalabrya and the entire Haskins family.
